How Kahin works
No money. Ever.
Kahin is a prediction game. Everyone starts with 10,000 coins, earns a daily bonus, and can rebuy once a day if they go broke. Coins can't be bought, sold or withdrawn. The only thing you can win is bragging rights on the Table of oracles, which ranks players by profit (so bonuses don't help you climb).
Where the data comes from
Fixtures, live scores, match events and full match stats come from ESPN's public sports feed. For each finished match Kahin reads the half-time score, every goal with its minute, every card, every corner from the play-by-play and each player's line, and cross-checks the per-half breakdowns against the box score before trusting them for settlement.
The data layer is provider-agnostic: API-Football, football-data.org or Sportmonks can be dropped in with an API key, and an offline demo league keeps the game playable if the feed goes down.
How the odds are made
Every match is played out 16,000 times by a Monte-Carlo engine. Expected goals come from attack and defence ratings fitted to this season's results and shots on target, with recent games weighted more. When bookmaker prices are available, expected goals are taken from the market instead, since closing lines are the sharpest information there is. Corners and cards come from each club's own record, with card ratings held close to the league average because referees matter so much.
Every market is a single settle function that is run against all 16,000 simulated matches to get its probability, and then against the real result to settle your ticket, so pricing and settlement can never disagree. A margin of 4.5–14% depending on the market is added, like a real book. A backtest against hundreds of finished matches checks the model against bookmaker closing prices and real outcomes.
In play, the engine keeps what has already happened (score, minute, half-time score, corners, cards, red cards) and only simulates the rest, so every market re-prices live. Same-game combos are priced from the joint probability, which is why Home win + Over 2.5 isn't just the two odds multiplied.
Player markets hand every simulated goal, assist and card to a player, weighted by their season record and expected minutes, so scorer bets stay consistent with the match odds.

Bet types
- Singles: one stake per selection.
- Parlay: every selection must win; odds multiply. Picks from the same match automatically become a same-game combo priced on their joint probability.
- System: e.g. 2/4 places every double from four matches (6 lines); you can still return a profit with a loser.
- Cash out: singles and parlays can be closed early for 92% of their current fair value.
- Live bets: in-play tickets are confirmed after a 6-second check against a fresh read of the match.
Settlement rules
- All markets settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalties don't count.
- Postponed, abandoned or cancelled matches are void and stakes are returned (a void leg counts as odds 1.00 in a parlay).
- Quarter Asian lines split your stake: you can win or lose half.
- If the feed can't verify a stat for a specific half (e.g. per-half corners), only the affected market is voided.
- Player bets: a player who takes no part is void; own goals don't count for any scorer bet.
- Prices close at kick-off and re-open in play once the live clock is confirmed.
More sports, soon
Each sport is a module: a simulator, a stat parser and a market catalogue. The bet slip, parlays, settlement, cash out and leaderboard are shared, so basketball or tennis plug into the same machinery.
